Out and about
Community Access & Social Participation
Support to get out, stay connected and enjoy the community: appointments, shopping, friends, sport, study and work, with someone you know beside you. NDIS-funded across Victoria.

In short
- Support to get out and do the things you enjoy.
- Appointments, shopping, sport, friends, study and work.
- A worker you know, at your pace.
- Funded by the NDIS; TAC referrals welcome.
What it is
Community access is support for your life outside the house: a regular swim, a TAFE class, Friday prayers, the footy, volunteering, or simply the shops. Your worker is there with practical help and good company, and steps back as your confidence grows. The goal is your independence, not our presence.
- Transport and travel training, including public transport
- Medical and allied health appointments
- Shopping, banking and errands
- Social groups, sport, recreation and cultural events
- Support to attend study, volunteering or work
A typical week
Who it suits
NDIS participants with funding for Social and Community Participation, people who have spent a long time at home and want to rebuild confidence, and young adults building independence. Also TAC clients returning to community life after an accident.
How it's funded
NDIS: Core Supports — Assistance with Social and Community Participation.
TAC: community access support. Now taking TAC referrals.
Travel is charged in line with NDIS Pricing Arrangements and agreed with you first.
Common questions
Does the worker drive me?
Yes, where it is in your plan. Vehicle costs are charged at the NDIS rate and confirmed with you before the first trip.
Who pays for tickets and entry?
You pay your own activity costs. Many venues accept the Companion Card so your worker's entry is free.
Can I go with a group instead?
Yes. Our Group Activities program runs weekly outings, and we can arrange small-group sessions with people who share your interests.
