Daily living and overnight support at home
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Daily living and overnight support in a home that feels like yours, with housemates you choose to live with. Gillies House, our flagship SIL home, has a vacancy now.

In short
- Live in a shared home with support day and night, in an established suburb you know.
- Your own room, your own routine, housemates you choose to live with.
- Gillies House has a vacancy now.
- Funded by the NDIS.
What it is
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is help with daily life in your home, usually a home you share with other people with disability. The NDIS funds the support staff; you rent the home and run it together with your housemates and the team. At Prestige HCA, a SIL home means a small household, a staff team who stay, and house routines decided around the kitchen table by the people who live there. Your room, your way; your goals, your pace.
Where our homes are. We only provide homes in established suburbs, never in new estates or the outer fringe. Our promise is to help people stay in the communities and areas they've always called home: the same shops, the same faces, the same bus route.
A typical week
Who it suits
Adults with SIL in their NDIS plan, or a review pending, who want to live with housemates in a supported home. We assess compatibility carefully, and current residents have a say.
How it's funded
NDIS-funded only. SIL funding in your plan pays for support; rent, board and household bills are paid by you, usually from the Disability Support Pension and Rent Assistance.
No pricing is published. A SIL quote is prepared for your plan after the meet and greet.

Our flagship home
Gillies House
A three-bedroom single-storey home in Fairfield, with one current housemate and an all-female staff team who have been with the house from the start. It is a home for women, and we are seeking a female participant for the current vacancy. Support is 1:1 or 1:2 depending on the time of day, with staff on site overnight. What makes it home rather than a facility: your own room set up your way, meals you help choose and cook, house meetings where decisions are made together, and a quiet street with the shops and bus a short walk away.

Common questions
What's the difference between SIL and SDA?
SIL is the support staff. SDA is specialist housing funded separately for people with very high needs. Prestige HCA offers both; see our SDA page and the SIL, SDA and ILO guide.
Can I choose who I live with?
Compatibility is decided together: you, the current housemates and the team. A trial stay comes before any decision.
How long does it take to move in?
Usually four to eight weeks from first enquiry, depending on your plan and the NDIA. We keep you updated at each step.
