A meet and greet is a relaxed visit to the home, usually over a cup of tea, where you meet the housemates and staff and see how the house runs. Nothing is decided on the day.
Who comes
You, anyone you want with you (family, your support coordinator), the current housemates if they'd like to, and the SIL Coordinator and a staff member from the house.
What we talk about
- Your daily routine and what matters in a home
- The house routine: meals, house meetings, quiet time
- Your support needs, in general terms
- What happens next: a trial stay if everyone wants to go ahead
What we're looking at
Compatibility, both ways. The current housemates have a say, and so do you.
